List Types and Purpose
Lists are reusable objects that contain string values used for searching, and when defining datasets and policies.
| Type | Description | Modifiability |
|---|---|---|
| Managed (read only) | A predefined list provided by Cyberhaven. | Cannot be edited, but they can be duplicated to create custom lists. |
| Managed (read/write) | A predefined list provided by Cyberhaven. | Can be modified. |
| Unmanaged | A custom list created by the user. | Can be modified by the user. |
Lists Table Fields
The lists table displays the following fields:
- Name: The list name.
- Description: The list description.
- Number of Items: The number of items defined in the list.
- Type: Indicates the list type (Managed or Unmanaged).
- Used In: The number of times the list is used in datasets and policies. Clicking this number displays usage details in a pop-up dialog with links to the relevant dataset or policy.
Saving Behavior and Validation
When creating or duplicating a list, Cyberhaven validates the list for extra spaces and lines in entries.
If extra spaces or lines are detected, the user is prompted to choose between keeping the extra spaces/lines or allowing Cyberhaven to trim them before saving.
Events are associated with a new list only after it has been saved and applied in a dataset or policy.
